The Studio Place is a 501 (c)(3) Arts and Education program for at-risk, youth. We serve as a gateway for youth ages 14-19 to obtain the necessary skills to graduate high school, prepare for college, start their own business, or secure sustainable employment, by teaching The Business of Fashion Design.
THE STUDIO PLACE "Changing Lives Through Fashion”
Originally started in 1996 as “Children of Promise” by Wynette Jones of St. Louis, Missouri. The program began as a way to keep teenagers safe and occupied during the summer months. Covering numerous aspects of the fashion industry: basic to advanced sewing skills, production of fashion shows, networking and presentation skills, working backstage at charity fashion shows, and assisting with art direction on photo shoots and television productions.
In 2011,the decision was made to re-instate the teen intervention program, making it a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with the goal of reaching a larger group of youth, as well as adding essential life skills to ensure their personal success and sustainability. Now called "THE STUDIO PLACE," a creative co-working environment with a holistic approach to the challenges that face the youth in St. Louis, Missouri. We are currently located in Las Vegas, NV, collaborating with the Clark County School District, local businesses and organizations.
